The term labiaplasty refers to a procedure that reduces the length of the labia minora. It is the most commonly performed vaginal rejuvenation procedure and it can relieve symptoms women experience from twisting and tugging of the labia.
The goal of the procedure is to reduce the labia minora so that they don't hang below the hair-bearing labia majora. A labiaplasty may be performed to reduce asymmetry when one is longer than the other, or, more commonly, to reduce the length of both labia so that the labia no longer twist, tug or fall out of a bathing suit.
The cost of a labiaplasty depends on various conditions like Surgeon’s Fee, Anesthetist fees, Medicines/consumables during surgery, Hospital facility & stay, Technology used, Immediate post-operative follow-ups given to patient. You will receive a personalised quote after your consultation with a surgeon. So if you're considering labiaplasty, it's worth talking to your doctor.

Labiaplasty
I have 16 years of experience in the field of cosmetogynecology. Everything came up with just two main procedures:
- Vaginal Rejuvenation
- Labiaplasty
The latter is the functional aesthetic correction of the labia minora and majora, generally performed through a surgical intervention. The labia minora are between the labia majora and surround the entrance to the vagina, but when they have an abnormal growth they end up protruding from them.
More than 3 decades ago, practically nobody cared about the appearance of the female vulva because there were other priorities .
Previously, women were not used to using full hair removal and perhaps, because a female empowerment was lacking to dare to complain and correct something so intimate that it made them uncomfortable.
Throughout my professional career I have had more than 1000 operated patients , with optimal results, finding this procedure increasingly delicate and challenging to leave patients as they require. I have operated on girls from the age of 11, to women of 70 years and I must say that I have been successful in the vast majority and one or the other may not be 100% satisfied, but fortunately no one can complain about a bad result.
I have attended more than 50 international conferences of the specialty where in all , without exception, I have been a visiting professor. In these conferences I have given classes on how a labiaplasty should be done, with what techniques and how to achieve the best results.
In recent years I have been invited to give lectures about how to repair labiaplasty badly done by other doctors. I have given practical classes, live surgeries in courses, direct trainings to doctors in more than 10 countries. I have operated labiaplasties in Venezuela, Uruguay, Spain, Dubai and of course Chile .
Do not make the mistake of having surgery with someone who does not have the experience , who has not attended courses, congresses and "hand-on" trainings with an expert, when there is an amputation of the lips, a bad result in the clitoral hood there is very little to do.
Research your future doctor, ask for before and after photos and make sure that the one who is going to operate is really an expert in gynecological aesthetics and not just another obstetrician gynecologist. The first intervention is, as in almost all medicine, the most important. "
There are many studies that link a woman's body self-image with her sexual function. However, few studies have been done to investigate the role of the genital image in the sexual experience of women.
Although the literature has not done so, if we consider other parts of the body, it is to be assumed that feeling beautiful or ugly in the genitals may be related to self-esteem and its role in sexual life.
A study (Ackard, 2000) of 3,627 women found that those with positive body self-image reported more sexual activity, initiative, orgasm, sex with lights on, and greater comfort when naked in front of their partners. Laser vaginal redesign or Laser Vaginal Designer can improve a woman's body self-image and self-esteem. Our patients come to improve the external appearance of their genitals. The most frequent complaint of our patients is the excess of the labia minora, known as Hypertrophy of the labia minora. By showing them with photographs that their problem is not unique and that the solution is within their reach, most do not hesitate to solve it and undergo a Reductive Laser Labiaplasty.
This problem can be as serious or more serious than an ugly nose or small breasts. We understand that very large labia minora can have a negative effect on a woman's psyche and therefore her sex life. In most of these cases the problem is not only cosmetic, but also causes chronic irritation, pain during sexual intercourse, discomfort with tight clothing or with some sports activities.
Other women report discomfort with the flaccidity of the labia majora: in these cases a surgery called "lifting" or stretching of the labia majora is performed to solve this problem. In certain cases, the woman's requirement is to increase the volume of her labia majora. The patient's own fat injection is then performed to achieve the required appearance.
Genetics, being overweight or childbirth are causes that influence and change the size, shape and appearance of the female genitalia. Changes in the appearance of the vulva can cause some women a real discomfort, both physical and psychological, in the development of their daily activity.
The labioplastia is a surgical procedure that allows the reduction or increase in thickness and size of the labia through minimally invasive techniques such as laser genital redesign. Labiaplasty with laser technology allows the improvement and recovery of the functional and aesthetic appearance of the genital lips in women who are dissatisfied with their intimate appearance.

What includes?
What is it?
Labiaplasty is a minimally invasive intimate surgery treatment performed with laser technology, which offers fast, effective and more precise results than conventional surgery and allows to recover the functionality and harmony of the intimate area. There are several types of labiaplasty, both reducing and increasing.
Reducing labiaplasty
Surgical procedure that consists of the reduction of the vulvar lips, eliminating the excess thickness and size with the minimally invasive technique allowing to recover the aesthetic and functional aspect of the woman's genital lips.
On many occasions, this dysfunction produces discomfort, physical and psychological discomfort that can generate complexes during sexual intercourse, in sports or even with the use of tight clothing.
The causes of hypertrophy of the labia minora are diverse and can have a physiological, hormonal origin or also due to childbirth.
Labiaplasty augmentation
The passage of time causes loss of collagen and tissue in the female genital tract and as a consequence decreases the filling of the labia majora, leaving them more flabby and empty.
Labiaplasty augmentation is designed to correct the size of the labia majora through reconstruction.
Before and after
Advantage
How is the treatment?
Labiaplasty labia minora with laser
Simple surgical procedure that allows to regain the harmonization of the genital area from the gynecological point of view. Surgical intervention allows the excess of the labia minora to be removed, giving the appropriate size and morphology.
The procedure begins with sedation and / or spinal anesthesia. After marking the area to be treated, the doctor proceeds to remove and extract the excess mucosa using the laser.
Labiaplasty of the labia majora with laser
After making a precise diagnosis of atrophic lips due to excess skin, the labiaplasty of the labia majora is performed. The surgical procedure with laser allows to reduce the size of these eliminating the excess of fat or volume, rejuvenating the genital area. After sedating the patient or applying anesthesia to the patient, the doctor marks the area and removes the excess skin. Through the heat radiated by the laser.
Labiaplasty augmentation
Labiaplasty can also be lip augmentation. The labia majora filling procedure is simple and minimally invasive. After sedation of the patient, the procedure is performed with autologous fat removed by laser-assisted liposuction.
Labiaplasty to augment the labia majora can be performed using injectable fillers.
After treatment
The post-operative labiaplasty is fast and safe, but since it is a delicate area it requires a series of minimal care during the first days.
Contraindications
The contraindications of labiaplasty should be consulted by the surgeon, but it is not performed in:
Frequent questions
What is the ideal age to perform labiaplasty?
The intervention is not recommended for children under 18 years of age, since at that age they have not yet completed development and changes continue to occur in the anatomy of the vulva. The most frequent age for consultation and intervention is between 25 and 40 years.
What care and precautions should be taken after the intervention?
After the intervention, and for a few days, antibiotics and anti-inflammatories are usually prescribed to avoid infections. It is also recommended to use compresses to avoid rubbing in the intervened area and avoid sexual intercourse for 3-4 weeks.
How long does the recovery process take?
Recovery is immediate without the need for a rest period, just abstain from sexual intercourse for several days after treatment.
Labiaplasty, also called labiaplasty, is an operation that involves reducing the labia minora. Such hypertrophy can be the cause of pain or disabling complexes. Find out what you need to know before considering such an operation.
Summary
Labiaplasty (or labiaplasty or labioplasty) is the medical name for the operation to reduce the labia minora (drooping labia minora). Hypertrophy of the labia minora can be congenital (from birth) but most often, this excessive development occurs during puberty and is accentuated by childbirth. Conversely, after menopause, the labia minora tend to atrophy and hide behind the labia majora.
We speak of proven hypertrophy when they measure more than 4 cm. The origin of this hypertrophy is most often linked to hormonal impregnation during puberty.
It is quite frequent and can be the cause of functional problems in the sporting or intimate context (sexual relations because of the retraction of the fabric and / or for the wearing of certain clothes such as swimsuits…). Discomfort and complexes are not always proportional to their length. Beyond the aesthetic and functional aspect, the operation generally allows an improvement in the love and social life of the patient.
The vulva presents visible parts such as the mount of Venus and the labia majora but also hidden parts such as the labia minora (or nymphs), the vestibule where the urethral orifice is located, the vagina and the clitoris .
Unlike the labia majora, the labia minora are not covered with hair, but they contain a lot of sebaceous follicles and very sensitive nerve endings. They meet at the top and in front to form the hood and the frenulum of the clitoris but do not necessarily meet behind. Variable in size, they measure on average 3 cm in length. Their ends are flush with or overflowing the vulvar slit
The goal is to reduce the labia minora by removing excess skin and mucosa and to restore symmetry by removing excess mucosa from the labia minora. For 45 minutes to an hour on average, this operation can take place under local anesthesia , but it is a sensitive area and the woman is then obliged to remain in a gynecological position . It is the most popular choice in the United States, but in France, patients prefer to be asleep. The operation is performed during the day and does not require an overnight stay in the hospital.
This surgery is intended for all women who suffer from having excessively developed or hypertrophic labia minora, for functional, intimate or aesthetic reasons. It is difficult to define strict indications for this operation as the discomfort depends on the experience of each woman.
Some doctors and sex therapists are worried about the increasing demands for such operations. According to them, the dictatorship of an aesthetic standard (mainly conveyed by porn movies) leads to complexes that do not need to be. Some sexologists believe that the reduction of these areas very rich in sensitive sensors is risky in terms of sensations and limit the indication of this technique to only women in whom the size of the labia minora constitutes a mechanical discomfort, handicapping walking and therefore walking. everyday life.
For others, the practice of pubic hair removal, the fashion for thongs and very high-cut swimsuits, the liberation of manners and the more assiduous practice of sport by women make an enlarged lips more difficult to live with today. If the discomfort is important, the corrective technique is now well mastered.
There is no age limit for this intervention, however, it is customary to recommend to wait until the end of growth (17-18 years).
The Labiaplasty will only reduce the size of the labia minora, it is not intended to increase female pleasure. There is no link between the labia minora and the controversial G spot. For the latter, it is possible to act specifically on this area but by another aesthetic gesture (injection of hyaluronic acid).
The surgeon will perform a pelvic examination to assess the degree of hypertrophy, possible asymmetry, hyperpigmentation or excess mucous membrane in the labia minora. This examination makes it possible to better understand the patient's expectations and to discuss with her what is possible to achieve based on specific models.
A blood test will be requested and the recommendations of the preoperative assessment will be discussed.
All the information necessary for a proper understanding of the treatment must be provided during the consultation. The patient should not hesitate to ask all the questions she wishes. Summary documents can be provided.
The surgeon will provide a detailed estimate for the operation. A period of 15 days between the first consultation and the operation must be respected (this is a mandatory reflection period for all cosmetic procedures). Before the operation, a visit to the anesthesiologist at least 48 hours before the operation is mandatory.
A preoperative blood test is performed as prescribed. The professional must ensure that there are no contraindications to surgery.
Some recommendations should be observed before cosmetic surgery of the belly:
Possibly for patients sensitive to genital herpes , preventive treatment may be prescribed. Regarding pubic shaving, you should ask your surgeon if it is recommended to wax or shave before the procedure.
The patient must consult the anesthesiologist between one month and 48 hours before the operation. The type of anesthesia depends on the technique used, on the consultation between the cosmetic surgeon, the anesthesiologist and the patient: general anesthesia or local anesthesia or vigil (local sub-anesthesia accompanied by tranquilizers administered intravenously).
The procedure usually lasts one hour. The resection drawing can be done in the operating room. The patient can thus confirm that it corresponds to her wishes.
Two techniques exist:
The operation is generally performed on an outpatient basis with an entry in the morning and an exit in the evening. In some cases, overnight hospitalization may be necessary.
The operative consequences of a Labiaplasty are generally not very painful and calmed by conventional analgesics. An intimate toilet after each urination is recommended. Edema of the labia minora and slight bleeding may last for a few days.
A work unavailability of 2 to 7 days is to be expected. Sports activities, wearing tight clothes, bathing and having sex are contraindicated for 3 to 6 weeks, until healing is satisfactory. Discomfort when walking may appear in the first days after the operation. A perineum cushion may be useful in the event of prolonged sitting. Wearing loose cotton underwear is also recommended.
Postoperative complications and risks are rare today. The preoperative examinations and consultations with the plastic surgeon and the anesthetist are aimed at eliminating all risks and complications as much as possible. The risks of infections are prevented with pre and postoperative antibiotic treatments. Nevertheless, the patient must always be informed of the possible complications: bleeding, hematoma, infection, anomalies of wound healing, skin necrosis, phlebitis , pulmonary embolism). Following instructions and post-operative appointments are essential to reduce the risk of complications.
The result is visible right away but the persistence of edema during the first three weeks means that the final result is judged after 2-3 months. The result must be natural and respect the anatomy of the patient.
The possible imperfections of the result mainly concern problems of residual asymmetries, insufficient resection or the persistence of the anterior extension. In these cases, surgical correction can be performed but not for 6 months to 1 year.
There are certain contraindications to this surgery, which will be identified during the preoperative assessment:
Proven cases of dysmorphophobia (obsessive fear of being ugly) constitute a real contraindication to surgery. Only psychiatric treatment can then take care of the problem. These cases are extremely rare and cannot be confused with the majority of complaints expressed by patients.
If the surgery aims to correct functional discomfort, pain during sexual intercourse or daily activities, a request for treatment is possible. For this, the surgeon will have to write a request for a prior agreement that the patient will have to submit to her social security center. The medical adviser will then check the clinical elements and give his or her agreement or not. If it is covered, the fees remaining payable by the patient may nevertheless be high.
In other cases, Social Security considers that the Labiaplasty is an intervention of cosmetic surgery and therefore does not cover the costs.
The cost of a rhinoplasty varies from 2,500 to 3,500 euros. These prices vary greatly depending on the costs associated with the clinic, the type of anesthesia, the specificities of each patient and the prices specific to the surgeon. A precise estimate must be given during the consultation, well before the operation.
